Charging ahead in the south

We’re on a mission to become Aotearoa’s largest EV charging network and we're stoked to share the latest update about our expansion in the South Island!

Whataroa: Now live

Our new charging site in Whataroa is up and running!

  • 69 Main Road, Whataroa, at The Lonely Stag Café
  • Two 50kW DC chargers with both CHAdeMO and CSS connectors now available
  • Grab a coffee or a snack while you charge – it’s the perfect pit stop on the West Coast

Whether you’re exploring the beautiful surroundings of southern Westland or just passing through, Whataroa’s ready to power your journey.

Haast: We're working hard

We know many of you are eagerly awaiting our new chargers in Haast.

You might’ve spotted some orange ducts popping out of the ground on site – but never fear, they’re not live just yet!

Remote locations like Haast come with unique challenges and this one’s been more complex than most sites, but we’re committed to getting the chargers in the ground as soon as we can!

Here's the latest, we’ve:

  • Upgraded the local network
  • Network company installed a brand-new transformer
  • Completed the groundworks

Now, we’re installing a load management system to help protect the local power supply and ensure safe, reliable charging.

Thanks for your patience and support – we can't wait to get these chargers live for you!

Murchison: Making great progress

Murchison is a popular stop on the route south from Nelson and we know that drivers are sick of waiting for the one and only public charger!

That’s why we’re building three 160kW DC chargers at Beechwoods Café with both CSS and CHAdeMO connectors.

We’ve got a signed agreement with the landowner and now we’re upgrading the local network to support the extra power.

No more queues soon – we’re working hard to tackle the problem head-on.

Thanks for being part of the journey. We’re just getting started, so keep your eyes peeled with more updates coming soon!
