Murchison powering smoother South Island EV roadies

If you’re heading through the top of the south this summer, we’ve got great news. Our new Zero charging site in Murchison is officially up and running with three fast chargers.
Located right in the heart of town at Beechwoods Café, the site brings much needed high-speed charging to one of the South Island’s busiest junctions.
Solving a pain point for drivers
Sitting at the crossroads of SH6 and SH65, Murchison is a key stop for travellers moving between Nelson, the West Coast and Canterbury.
For years, Murchison has had just one public charger and it’s been a hot topic among EV drivers. Long queues, unpredictable wait times and limited options made it a bottleneck for drivers heading through the region.
With our new site now live, that’s all changing.

Your new EV charging pit stop
- 32 Waller Street, next to Beechwoods Café – ideal for a coffee or a quick bite while you top up!
- 4 × DC fast charge points (3x 160 kW, 1x 63 kW CHAdeMO)
- CCS and CHAdeMO available
